vGa 2009 wiNNerS... mY tHouGhtS...

Well... it seems like this is a very very late post... hahaha... ^^ was on holiday mode since I was back in my hometown... and couldn't think of anything except eat and eat and eat (lucky me I didn't gain any excess 'baggage'... ><"). Anyways, after watching VGA 2009 on Animax, I have a few words and thoughts about the winners. Although it is great that we get to know all those upcoming games (that has been keeping us in the dark whether they are coming out with another expansion... i.e. Uncharted 2, God of War 3... etc etc etc...) and also get to know who won what and who didn't... it is really thrilling... but I do have 1 question in mind when I was watching the awards.

"Are the categories for each game, which are in direct competition with each other, justified and fair?"

I mean... it is kind of weird to be putting a Nintendo DS based game against other more... how should I put it... more 'powerful' consoles... i.e. PS3 & XBOX 360? Now we all know what a PS3 and XBOX 360 can do in terms of graphics. And game play is also way better than a Wii (which I've personally tried and played and felt...) but putting the Nintendo DS against other bigger consoles... its like comparing an adult and a child... plus it is a dead giveaway to anybody to guess who will be winning anyway. In fact, it's akin to genocide.

No doubt this is the RPG game of the year... but to put it against more powerful consoles... ><"

Best example... the RPG category... putting 'Dragon Age : Origins', 'Borderlands' and 'Demon's Souls' in the same boat with 'Mario & Luigi : Bowser's Inside Story'? That is just down right weird... it's a dead giveaway which game will lose from the very beginning.

Great graphics... especially the monster... how can you ever put this game against Nintendo DS game? ><"

Another example is the Best Driving Game category. Gran Turismo for the PS3 would've been able to go shoulder to shoulder with the likes of Dirt 2, Forza Motorsports 3 and Need For Speed : Shift. But come on, a PSP version? That's like insulting the Gran Turismo franchise. It never was a fair fight to begin with.

If Forza Motorsport 3 can win the Gran Turismo 5 in their full fledge glory... I have nothing to say...

But at least there are other winner who is justifiable by their categories... ^^ until then... see you all in the next blog... time to sign off for now... (satay celup is calling for me... ^^)
